Couples Therapy

Couples can find themselves stuck in unhelpful patterns.

Sometimes, those conflicts seem unresolvable – causing communication to break down, arguments to escalate, trust to be shaken, or emotional distance to quietly grow.

Some couples are navigating betrayal or secrecy; others feel like roommates instead of partners.

Most couples don’t come to therapy because they don’t love each other. Often, couples reach out when they realize that talking more isn’t helping and that the way they’re communicating is part of the problem.

What is couples therapy like with me?

Couples therapy is structured, respectful, and focused on understanding – not blame. Sessions slow things down so both partners feel heard and emotionally safe enough to speak honestly. This isn’t about deciding who’s right. It’s about understanding what’s happening beneath the surface of the conflict and learning how to stay connected even during difficult conversations.

I work with couples to identify the patterns that keep them stuck and replace them with healthier ways of relating. Therapy focuses on improving communication, managing conflict, repairing after arguments, and rebuilding trust when it’s been damaged.

I am trained in and use the Gottman Method to help couples work through conflict, communication breakdowns, betrayal, trust repair, emotional understanding, and empathy. This evidence-based approach is practical, research-backed, and especially effective for couples who want fundamental tools – not just insight.

Couples learn to recognize emotional flooding, make repairs in real time, and move toward each other rather than away from each other during stress.

Most couples wait six years too long to begin to repair the cracks in their relationship.

If your relationship feels uncertain but you’re not ready to give up, or if you’re rebuilding after something painful, couples therapy can help.

Take the first step toward reconnection. Let’s talk about how couples therapy can help your relationship regain its life.
